"Signal"

#1

Post by krämbulle » 01 May 2003, 19:56

I've been looking around for some info regarding "Signal", the magazine which was published in the countries occupied by Germany. I´ve searched the forums and I looked around on the net but with no greater sucsess.

Does anyone have the complete list of countries where "Signal" was published and especially if they ever where published in Norway and Denmark and if so where they in Norwegian and Danish?

Does anyone have any other interesting information-sources dealing with other publications published by Germany and the different military branches (links, books etc.)?

Thanks in advance

Hello.Signal was published also in countries that were not occupied by Germans.According to Signal 10/44 magazine was published in following countries/areas:

Belgium,Bulgaria,Bohmen-Mahren,Spain,Holland,Italia,Croatia,Norway,Portugal,
France,Romania,Sweden,Serbia,Slovakia,Finland,Switzerland,Sudsteiermark,
Ostland,Danmark,Turkey and Hungary. Also English version was available.

If you can't get original magazines,i suggest Will Fowler book:Their War.German Combat Photography From The Archives Of Signal Magazine.

Hope this helps.

Cheers/Juha

....right after I posted the first message in this thread I actually found an article regarding the Swedish version of "Signal", this article says that the first issue came out in April -41, does anyone know how many numbers that were published in Sweden?

A previous thread within this forum indicated that Signal from each edition is being reprinted in Greek. The printing now going on also is taking place in Greece.
