Stamps printed on German military maps

How many of you know that Latvia printed
their stamps on German General Staff Maps
in 1919 due to a paper shortage.
If you could collect hundreds of these
stamps one could reconstruct a military map!

Interesting!

I have seen something similar, but that was airplane recognition drawings, printed on the bacside of maps in 1944.......
