Double Deathcard!!!

#1

Post by Shooter McGavin » 06 Sep 2016, 09:26

Hello! I need some help researching this deathcard I have. I have not been able to find the locations "Toblinka, Russia" and "Totmegjer, Hungary" I have seen this card elsewhere online but I want to gather all the info on these brothers here! This is what I have so far:

--Alfons Huber

Gefreiter in a PAK unit/ anti-tank detachment
Born febuary 6th 1924
Died July 30th 1943
Buried in Hero's cemetary Toblinka, Russia

--Josef Huber

Unteroffizier in a assault gun detachment
Holder of the EK and Wound badge
Born March 5th 1922
Died March 27th 1945
Buried in Hero's cemetery Totmegjer, Hungary
--Could this be a cemetery for soldiers fallen in the fighting for the Lake Balaton oilfields at the end of the war?
I understand the death cards don't give much information on the soldier's unit or history. I'm still interested in finding any information left on these guys.
Corrections and comments welcome!!
-Thanks

Tot Megyer is now called Palarikovo, Slovakia.

Considering date of death I think Toblinka was a small railroad station in the area of attack of 106.ID during Kursk battle.

South of Belgorod. The name probably has been changed.

Sadly there were lots of funerals at the time of the Kursk battle, so i guess i understand the typo!
Thanks to both of you for your fast informative replies. I will try and return the favor anytime I can.

It looks like things are more complicated. There are two Toplinkas (more exactly three, let skip this third for a while). First - railway station, 1 on a map, second - cemetery, 2 on a map. The second Toplinka is on the other side of Donets: cemetery and ca 5 houses.
