Berlin 1945 Feldpost - Volkssturm - genuine ?

Post by lutrebois » 26 Sep 2016 05:09

Hello friends,
I need your help.
This FP does interest me ... but is it genuine ?

A VS-man with a Verteidigungsbereich B (Berlin) FP-number using, as it seems the postal "facilities" of the Berlin 311 LandesschützenBn.
Köpenick is confirmed part of the Verteidigungsbereich B.

Early march 1945 the "fortifications" and preparation for the defense of Berlin were ongoing.

Are there other examples of this kind of FP-link ? Why is the VS-Bn the man belonged to not mentionned ?

Thanks

Peter

Sorry, but for a passionate collector of "Ganzsachen" [stamped papers] it's only a mass-marketed product for a colorful flea market!

See for example:

Good morning Dieter,
Thanks for the reply.
I do not collect Feldpost, be it "Ganzsachen" or other postal items.
I'm only/always looking for the battle for Berlin related "paperwork".
This is, as you correctly pointed out, a cheap mass-product.
But for me the fact that a Volkssturmmann of Berlin, linked to a Berlin based LandesschützenBtl, uses the (rare to find) Feldpostnumber that was created for the Verteidigungsbereich Berlin is of the most value. The more because it is stamped in Köpenick in March 1945 when the preparation for the expected battle took off. Köpenick lies in the east of Berlin (Abschnitt Kdr B), there where the first Russian attack was expected.
Regards and enjoy the week-end
Peter

Are there forum members who could check the "Michel - Feldpost" if this kind of Verteidigungsbereich Berlin is mentionned with a theoretical market value ?
Thanks
Peter
