"Der Letzte Mann" painting

My uncle gave me this painting in Hamburg for my birthday. It's an old copy of a painting from the 1914 Falklands War between Britain and Germany. It was painted in 1936 and hung in a bar up until 20 years ago. Regretfully it suffered some damage as British occupation soldiers would stab it with knives and smear crap on it because they thought it was Nazi related, rather than WWI. Frame was replaced 20 years ago. It's signed by a K. Ehrlich 1936. I wasn't sure where to post this as it has a WWI subject, but was painted during the 3rd Reich.
