Letter to the front

#1

Post by Brian B » 19 Dec 2017, 07:07

I am a German reenactor and am trying to make a letter from home to improve my impression. Ive already got everything done quite nicely except for addressing the envelope. I have had a very difficult time finding information about it and even the best scans of envelopes I've found are simply to hard to read, and/or addressed to home, not from home.

So here's my question: How would a letter be addressed from Germany, to the front line? Would it be addressed to the nearest field post, if so how would I format that when writing it on the envelope? Thank you for any help and information you can give me :)

:welcome:

It looks exactly as a return address on a post sent to home!
Basically rank or title, first name, surname and feldpost number, if you're after "front line".
