Strange Map

#1

Post by stcamp » 02 Jun 2003, 17:46

Hello,

I like maps, especially ones that have been marked on. I ordered 5 maps from e-bay and got 5 maps, probably ones used in schools or public? It was $5.00 I mean I like maps. Anyways, one of them was really a NSDAP office file folder. One the back it has a drawing of a street and markings of a position? and some writing on the other side.

Inside it has a paper map of Poland that somebody has glued in with penciled grid markings and cities and places near roads marked. What is interesting is some are marked in blue and some are in red. Probably German & Russian troop concentrations? Battles? It has to be 1944 or so becase you can see the blue and red marks start in the middle of Poland and go almost to the German border.

If anyone is interested in seeing it I will scan it. It really made my day.

Hello,

I tried to scan but that didn't work so I went with the digital camera.
What's interesting is that this was pasted inside a NSDAP Volkswohlfahrt folder.

And the final one. Is there a 3 image limit on each post?

This map is a pre-war map, because it shows the Dantzig corridor. I don't think it was still in use in 1944, in all case not by the officials german autorities. What do you think of it ?
