Looking for some help please guys with a Soldbuch i have picked up. If i am reading it correctly i can see after training he first went to the 3 batt Flak abt 981 in Cherbourg then on to Marseille. Then on to 3 Gem Flak abt 595 in Saintes then on to Bordeux. Then next entry for 14/3/44 to 12/6/44 i can only make out 4 Gem Flak abt but not sure on the number part if anyone can help please...... after this it has 4 Gem Flak abt 497 which if he arrived in Normandy on the 13th i believe that would place him somewhere south of Bayeux ? ......after this i believe the 497 retreated to Caen then through Falaise and with the next entry him being hospitalised in Arnheim is it possible he was wounded escaping the Falaise pocket ? Would be great if any of my points that are wrong could be corrected as it is all a learning process for me and if anyone can help fill the gap before he got to Normandy on the 13/6/44 that would be excellent. If also what he was hospitalised for is there too again that would be great to know. Thanks Gary

Unfortunately I cannot make out the unit number either - looks like 49_

After his stay in the Lazarett in Arnhem he was transferred to a lazarett in Munster with the injury code '31' which indicates 'Wounds & Sickness Due To Enemy Action'. Usually it would have a letter after the number to indicate what type of action (a = bullet wound, b = shrapnel, c = burns, d = bombing/air attack etc) but it doesn't look like they have done so in this case so narrowing it down won't be possible.
