German Death Card of Erich Schiml (Killed over England)

Erich was a Obergefreiter in the Luftwaffe and served as a Radio Operator. The card states he went on a mission with his combat squadron over London and was killed in action on March 22 1944. Based on the date he would have been involved in Operation Steinbock. He is buried in England. Here is all the info I know

Unit: 2 Staffel./Kampfgeschwader 6 Type: Junkers Ju 188 E-1

Coded: 3E+BK

Location: Near Butlers Farm, Shopland, Essex, England.

Pilot: Leutnant. Guenter Lahl. - Killed.

Observer: Unteroffizier. Julius Fromm. - Killed.

Radio/Op: Obergefreiter. Erich Schiml. - Killed.

Gunner: Unteroffizier. Rudolf Budrat. Killed.

Gunner: Unteroffizier. Erwin Kosch. - Captured POW.

REASON FOR LOSS:

Aircraft shot down by S/L E. N. Bunting DFC and F/Lt C. P. Reed DFC in a Mosquito Mk.XIII of No. 488 Squadron. Mosquito crew were directed to a contact, which was Ju 188 E-1 of 2./KG 6. Mosquito chased e/a through tight turns and steep climbs before firing multiple bursts from 250 yards astern. E/A crashed and exploded near Butlers Farm, Shopland, Essex, with four crew killed in action and one prisoner of war.
