Need Help Deciphering a Signature

#1

Post by Charles Steiner » 08 Mar 2023, 22:42

Hello all,

I am trying to decipher the following signature of a Oberarzt. Unfortunately, my Sütterlin isn't what it was used to be... or maybe it has never been any good... 8O

Can anybody help me with this one?

Many thanks in advance,

Charles

My guess was Dr. Harpotha, but I am not sure...

Anyone a guess?

Charles

Hello Charles,

What kind of document bears this signature? What is the exact heading?

Cheers, Gert

It looks like a Wehrpass but showing the whole page so people can see dates and any relevant units might be helpful.

Hello all,

Many thanks for your responses. The signature indeed comes from a Soldbuch. The signature figures underneath an entry on a medical page of the soldbuch and dates back from december 1943. The signature belongs to the btl.doctor (Btl.Arzt und Truppenarzt) of a Pz.Aufkl.Abt.

Hope this helps some more…

Cheers,

Charles
