Here's the website of an organization you may wish to contact -- International Combat Camera Association which I am a member of. There are many members from Germany, Japan the US and other nations who were combat photographers.

Below is a photograph of myself back in the early 1950s

All:

This is a very interesting thread. I dug up several scans of PK photographers in action. They are from the US National Archives; which has quite a few images of the photographers and their activities. The images I found are from the campaign in the west in May 1940.

I posted them to my website under “Historical Photo Archive – Photographs of the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration.” I put them on my web site vice posting them to here because I am not smart enough to figure out the pixel requirements for uploading .jpegs to this forum.

If anyone can provide information about PK companies – organization, mission, etc. – I will use it on my webpage to accompany the posted photos. Thanks in advance.

Cheers,
Marc

Hello there,
I hope someboy can me give a hand. I'm posting from Portugal, and today in a flea market I found an incredible collection of photographs from the eastern front. All original, all with small summarys typw-writted in the cover and I was trying to found information regarding the photographer but I was only able to found one picture taken by him (in the eastern front, also).

His Name PK Zschäckl. Is this a known war german correspondent? The pictures are incredible... I only bought one, but I was thing of buying all the collection.

I will wait for the forum's feedback.

Cheers,
n.

hi friends
I did a deep and long research in the bundesrachive's pictures on line.
I'm interested in Heinze Fremke, Hushke, Stift, Hinz and Böker pictures for the 10/20 may 1940.
By exemple for Fremke I find pics 127-0369-19 and 127-0369-21 but no traces of 20 and others.
That's the same problem for other series of shots
Is somebody can tell me how I can retrieve the the missing N°
Many thanks for reply

Dear Noeneors,

I am no expert at all, but maybe you should look out for Propagandakompanie 689, which was attachted to 4. Armee (http://www.lexikon-der-wehrmacht.de/Gli ... aganda.htm).
There are one or two notes on that company in:

Bopp, Petra, Fremde im Visier. Fotoalben aus dem Zweiten Weltkrieg, Bielefeld 2009, p. 54-55.

Best regards

I have been working on a list of Bildberichtern for a while now. It is nowhere near finished of course

List: http://www.scribd.com/doc/52055680

I will be adding more to the list as I find it.

Any help on other names or units would be helpful

John
