Rebecca -

All I can tell you is that during the last 6 months of the war the Feldpost system started to fragment and become unreliable as units were ordered disbanded but their FpN continued to the end of the war. 3. Kompanie was the only component of Ln.-Abt. 124 that had a Feldpostnummer for some unknown reason. The Abt. spent the war with 4. Flakdivision in Düsseldorf and then later in Duisburg. 3. Kompanie was almost certainly a Flugmeldemess-Kp. (radar company). If you are ever able to solve this Ratzel please let me know!

31771:
Kfz.-Instandsetzungs-Zug der Luftwaffe 1/XVII.

Late September 1943 stationed in Greece and probably assigned to repair motor vehicles belonging to Ln.-Rgt. 40 in either Athens or Salonika.

You were reading it wrong...............between 12.3.1943 and 7.9.1943 its designation was simply amended by adding the suffix "(o)", meaning fixed or stationary. The battery was never disbanded and it continued on until the end of the war.

53381

(2.1.1940-11.3.1943) 4. Batterie schwere Flak-Abteilung 532,

(12.3.1943-7.9.1943) 4. Batterie schwere Flak-Abteilung 532 (o).
