Hitler postcard with child

Post by PF » 05 Dec 2004 01:01

I came across a reference of a postcard showing Hitler with a blond child
(from the 1930's) in which it is claimed that the boy was found out to be actually a grandson of a Rabbi.
Is this story true?
What is bio of child?

I think this story may be referring to Bernile Nienau, a little girl from Munich who was a popular visitor at Hitler's Obersalzberg home in the 1930s. She was featured in several postcards and photo books, shown with Hitler. It was later discovered her maternal grandmother was Jewish. Although Bernile continued to visit Hitler after this, eventually her visits were stopped.

See http://www.thirdreichruins.com/berghofvisitors.htm (about 2/3 of the way down the page).

Thanks for reply.
This may be a similiar case see:
The Postcard was called "Ein Kinderblick" (A child's gaze)
and appears on p.196 of "The Hitler File" by Frederick V. Grunfeld

The Child Gaze postcard at http://www.thinkequal.com/page.cfm/link=118
inscription of "Grandson of Rabbi Wedell of Dusseldorf" {Rabbi Abraham Wedell}
Was this son of Hans Wedell and Gertrude Bonhoeffer-cousin of Rev Bonhoeffer?
