Third Reich signatures.
Re: Third Reich signatures.
Well you could put it into a public auction. If you want to do that you will find quite a few on the web. I am involved with International Autograph Auctions who have bi-monthly sales in the UK and usually include quite a few WW2 lots. This is the web address:
http://www.autographauctions.co.uk/?gcl ... ZgodrXGiBw
There is a another sale on the 18th July. Entries close on the 19th June.

Ian

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Thanks quite kindly for your input Ian..! I am looking at Auctions, but don't know that that's the best way for me yet.Ian Sayer wrote:Well you could put it into a public auction. Re: Third Reich signatures.
It has taken me awhile to identify all the signatures on this post but I think they are all pretty much correct. The following four pages contain a total of 111 signatures which were gathered by Flt Lt Jimmy James of 'Great Escape' fame at the beginning of May 1945. They represent the majority of VIP prisoners who were assembled at Dachau at the end of April 1945 and sent in several coaches to the Tyrol. After many adventures they ended up in Niederdorf where they were finally liberated by US troops on the 5th May.
There is an entry on Wikipedia entitled 'Transport of Dachau concentration camp inmates to Tyrol' which provides the names of all those prisoners who travelled from Dachau to Niederdorf. It also contains some basic information on who they were. I have done some more research on those prisoners whose signatures appear here and I will be endeavouring to update the Wikipedia entry with this information when I have time.
In the meantime I hope you find these historical documents interesting.

Re: Third Reich signatures.
Ian - what a treasure! After reading up on Bonhoeffer"s final days, Payne Best's "Venlo Incident" and Fey von Hassel's "A Mother's War," I have a lot of interest in the trials and tribulations of these special prisoners. They were a mix of July 20 Sippenhaft prisoners and other high value hostages and they came painfully close to liquidation by their SS guard. Congratulations on owning this terrific document and thanks very much for posting it.

Does anyone have an signature example of:
SS/SD Brigadefuhrer Dr. Gerhard Mischke
Army General Lt. Kurt von der Chevallerie
Been looking for something with v.d.Chevallerie's for years....a simple EK 2nd KL. document, anything....with no luck.
Mischke is a newer effort (but probably will be tougher.....)(would potentially be interested in any that were offered.....)
I'd be very pleased to "see" examples....don't want to overstep myself.....

Don't know if you still need one but here's one of Mischke just in case
