Hmm ... I'm not that familiar with Tito's Partisan flicks. Anyway, the wrong region! Maybe the actor at left is the key.

Okay, a small hint: Maybe you don't know the lead character, but Sherlock knows him very well!

Re: Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
The guy at right later became famous while playing a police detective. He was shooting both that series and the movie in question in his native country while the lead actor is a Briton. The director shares his last name with a famous but contoversial politician from a short lived republic.

Re: Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
The film is based on an autobiographical novel by an author who survived the war, but died at age 40.
There was a recent remake (which IMHO isn't nearly as good) from which the following still is taken.

Re: Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
Yes, but with the same title, just as your "Charge of the Light Brigade". Unfortunately, I have no other still of the older movie. This is the lead actor today, he should really be known to the wider public. As I said, you need not to be a Sherlock to know him, but Sherlock knows him probably best. He even knew what he was thinking.
