There are words which carry the presage of defeat. Defence is such a word. What is the result of an even victorious defence? The next attempt of imposing it to that weaker, defender. The attacker, despite temporary setback, feels the master of situation.

For context I saw this movie with a fellow sailor and wound up in bed that night. She loved the movie and rewarded me for finding it for her.

Clint Eastwood in "Where Eagles Dare"

The only man who could fire an MP40 in each hand.

Not too shabby with a pistol either if you remember the scene in the Great Hall when he takes everyone down with one shot each.

They don't make them like that anymore...

Hans Christian Blech, as "Major Werner Pluskat" in "The Longest Day".

Very sure I'm repeating myself, but the German actor Herr Hans Christian Blech was the absolute perfect German "Kommisskopf" in our younger years, growing up with all these typical german movies.

A so-called "Kommisskopf" is difficult to translate, perhaps comparable would be Mr. R. Lee Ermey in his role as Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Full Metal Jacket...

Hans Christian Blech https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hans_Christian_Blech

I remember such guys from my childhood years, german veterans, whom you could see what they had experienced, and also lived, not only once...
