"Un long dimanche de fiançailles" ( 2004 ), by Jean-Pierre Jeunet.

Thought it would be harder to guess...

Correct answer for Mark in Tennessee.

Goulter, Christina. A Forgotten Offensive: Royal Air Force Coastal Command's Anti-Shipping Campaign, 1940–1945. Frank & Cass. London. 2005. ISBN 0-7146-4147-2

A published PhD and it shows it, they should get me to copy edit them. The content is worth the wade though.

Will there be another movie puzzle in the near future...?

Possibly I could pull one more out of the sewing box...

Nobody, okay, here's your new puzzle:

The movie, the title, and the year, please..?

The peaked cap of the time seemed a little out of place on his head, as did the formal salute with the wrong hand....

(One of my favorite films, a timeless masterpiece.)

Mark is right!

"Karbid und Sauerampfer" from the year 1963, a DDR production, starring Herr Erwin Geschonneck.

Docu from the year 2003:
60 Jahre DEFA - Es werden ein paar Filme bleiben / 60 Years of DEFA - A Few Films Will Remain

Erwin Geschonneck, an actor of German cinema, and so infinitely more...

Probably our mutual puzzle friend Mark is busy, so here's another puzzle:

A recent German TV production, a "Kammerspiel" ("Chamber Play") of the hard kind...

The attached picture is a "compilation", just for promotion, does not appear in the movie.

Small advice, from left to right:

Moretti / Berben / Brandt

A very good television play, well worth watching, the date 1947 will get you started...

Google the names given together and the answer comes up. Not that difficult.

In Australia the film had the informal English title "The Witness House” but still had German dialogue [with English subtitles/captions]
Was available on Netflix
