In addition, what I want to say was that officers like the founding father of the Baulehrregiment Brandenburg Theodor von Hippel were inspired by their service with Paul von Lettow-Vorbecks guerilla style warfare in German East-Africa

Helmut,

this lookes like a from a "Diorama", close combat fighting of French and German troops in WW1, and also in color...

Unfortunately, the picture is very small, and to be honest, I can't think of anything..? :?

Much older film. Not the western front. Take a look at the scenery.

Hi Helmut,

is it a black and white film that was subsequently colored ? Somehow these scenes seem familiar to me..? :?
(The colors are kinda "merkwürdig"...)

Helmut,

no idea, sorry: https://creepycatalog.com/world-war-i-movies/
I know the old and modern classics, but unfortunately I can't say anything about the newer productions.

In love and war (1996)?
With a young Hemingway in Italy on the Italian side during WW1. Is he the one with the red cross armband in the last picture?

Hi Waleed,

when I look closely at this "Sniper", the actor Chuck Norris comes to mind... (Your "Smiley")
(Unfortunately, I am not familiar with his films, the films are not in my "league".)

I can't think of much about the "Mosin-Nagant" sniper rifles either, a very complex and highly interesting subject...
Mosin-Nagant: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosin-Nagant
"Soviet Mosin–Nagant model 1891/30 sniper rifle with PU 3.5×21 sight" (Wikipedia E)
The English-language Wiki entry is quite complete about the many variants.
Link: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mosin–Nagant

Hans
P.S. By the way, a very good rifle, quite on a par with the German models of the 98 series, but only by the way.
