So much choice

Post by Fallschirmjäger » 04 May 2006 03:19

Yes this game looks great, but will it come out when?,and how many gigabytes will it be i wonder,i hope its one you buy from the shops and not just a download over the net.
And fallschirmjäger i wonder will be available on all fronts i wonder or for acuracy on the right fronts, but then they are putting weapons or eqipment that was not there right,so the what ifs?,could be the fallschirmjäger, and the graphics i hope are like BF2 and better not like that world war 2 online game?.

Yes lots to choose a p38 is nice and the c96 i would like too,is this going to be spawn based or wait till everyone dies rounds or how ever it runs i wonder,i will pick all weapons at some time,kar43,mp44, mg42 and a mauser 98k with sniper sites or the fg42 with sniper sites as it did use a7.92mm bullet right,so its got the distance for sniping right?.
Suppose i should read that forum right as it has all the info right?,thanks. 8-)

Some Screenshots from the HL2 mod:

http://www.1944game.com/forum/showthrea ... creenshots

There hasn't been many in-game images published, just of towns. The character polygon count averages about 5000 which is much better than WWIIOnline I believe (HL2 was around 8000). I read that they'll release some more screenshots soon and a video. I think they want to keep a lot of the features of the game a surprise.

And an "Invasion of Britain" What If scenario would be nice.

The game is set for release this year, hopefully.

The game doesn't function this way. You pick a squad or section then are issued with a standard kit per the (vacant) function within the squad. So you can't pick your weapons, but you can pick up weapons etc off the dead—if you know how to use it effectively. I also don't see why you can't swap items with other squad members. Members of a squad that are not filled will be controlled by the AI.

Thanks again spargonaut for this info too,and squads filled with AI?,it is online play or not or both version single too,as would think the game would be busy, and what are the side limits in battles ,said 250,00 for something, not realy for games right?,will it be 30 or more a side at most?,thanks.
And Lanz0r realy digging holes, unreal for shure,so the ground is like this everywhere though?,or certain places. 8-)

Well, the game simulates the number of individuals fighting in Normandy so 250,000 is a reasonable number and is achieved by smart programming.
There probably won't be many engagements on anyones screen which consist of more than a platoon size force. Most of the time you'll be alone with your squad with your own objectives.
About the AI? The battle simply continues with or without you, it's all in real time, with historically correct objectives that if not achieved will be altered by commanders or the AI.
I doubt you'll be able to dig through concrete or the like, unless a shell blast exposes the earth beneath. Also, when it rains puddles form so you could be up to your waste in water or mud.

Yeah, I'm almost certain, cause the guy I got my info has the dev on his MSN, though it may just be speculation, which raises the question, can you get a bunch of people together, and dig a network of trenches :), Or dig holes to plant artillery in :)
