At least one actor wore his own decorations in a one of the seminal movies made of the air war. The person I have in mind was British though he spent much time in US. Who was he and what was his highest decoration ?

Hey boys,Brian and Fallschirmjager: I' dont remember Burton in "Desert rats",perhaps the movie in question is "Raid on Rommel";other films was "Massacre in Rome" and "Where the eagles dare".

I did not know the name of the movie form the picture i saw with burton in it,thanks arcano for the raid answer and also yea where eagles dare i forgot that one.

Yes.

"....enlisted 3/14 Btn (London Scottish) The London Regiment on 30th March 1916 declaring previous service with Repton School OTC. He was awarded an MC as notified in the London Gazette Issue 30997 published on the 5 November 1918. Page 36.
