Close Combat 5 : Invasion Normandy
Here is a question that has been on my mind. Does the little soldiers get promoted at all?
I know in CC2 they do.

Yeah, I played cc3. I know CC3 tracks not only promotions and medals but how many campaigns your individual soldiers were involved in.
I like CC3's engine but not the graphics and it's heavy use of tanks. I'd prefer Invasion Normandy which balances infantry and armor. It also makes flanking attacks more lethal.

I'd agree that straight from the box, CC5 is better than CC3, but with all of the mods based on CC3, CC3 is the better game. Go to http://www.close-combat.net and http://www.closecombat.org and download the Zippo's plugin manager and all the mods that you can. Then, go after maps and have a blast.

I've tried previously to download this mod but the link doesn't workDan Reinbold wrote:Logan,
Have you tried the Gold-Juno-Sword mod for CC5? It covers the battles for Caen etc. Much better than the original CC5 which just focused on the American battles of the Normandy campaign.
Well worth the download.

I had the same trouble...but
Hi Korbius,
I had the same trouble...I basically had to download each individual component (files and maps) and that worked...it took forever, but it was well worth it. I tried using the plugin and I could never get it to work.
you can get the files at:

I hope this helps,
Dan
