Hi everyone,

I bought the Sturmovik simulator a while ago, following the great commentaries that I´ve read about it in the net. In spite of have a highgraphic and definitions standards I became very disappointed with this game. The reasons are:

1) I like to play the "Career", mainly as German fighter pilot. However I ALWAYS HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE BF109 :x ! Why? There are so many options of aircraft in this game but we only can fly the 109 of the JG52. Why not a Fw190 from de JG54? I can´t understand...

2) The bubble gun over the German Medals. As a militara collector it really upsets me. :cry: If you don´t want to show the Hakenkreuz - what I can understand perfectly - why you choose to a bubble gun over the medal? Wouldn´t be much more interesting to simply erase it (as Microsoft made in the Combat Flight Simulator ) or change them for the de-nazified 1957 versions of the awards (as Microprose did in the great simulator ever, European Air War)????

Does anyone has any opinion about it?

You don't advance to new Fighters?
i own Janes combat sim & Microsfts Combat Flight sims....but i always found the Bf 109 to be a better interceptor fighter & the Fw 190 to be a better ground attack aircraft....but that's just me.....
Take the Bf 109G....It's quite hairy to do a "diving" turn on 2 P-51's at over 700 kmph & be able to pull out in time, hitting 1 on the first pass & them catching the other in the Belling on the way back up....

Hi Douglas Jr., actually as you advance in the german campaign of Il-2, there are new versions of me-109 that become available and also Fw-190s.

I've finished IL-2 German campaign for quite a long time,
and I didn't get any chance of flying the Fw190.
BF109F-2 -> BF109G-2 -> BF109G6/Early -> Bf109G6/Late

maybe it's just my bad luck that every single FW109 was outta stock :wink:

I've played it long time ago, so I think that a patch added for the german campaign the Fw190 or if it was just a campaign that was made by a fan of Il-2. Nevertheless it's the best WWII simulation ever and the patches also added many new airplanes. Can't wait till "Il-2 Forgotten Battles" comes out 8)
