At first, they wore SS runes on a red background, but after distinguishing themselves at Anzio, they were authorized to wear regular black SS collar patches. You can find some more information here:

It will be a significant force in the twentieth century.
And I think that the models do not share the political views of Nazism or fascism. But there has been fascinated by this issue and there is historical not only in the modeling. Also in the film.
Sociologically, the German people should know his story well, to forgive, (like other countries that have committed genocide during its history) and overcome his guilt complex.
And I say this because forums Modelistica Some come from Germany and non-Germans have this taboo issue.
