Hola Wenty!!

I think most of us have seen it, very funny, first time for me was around may 1982, while studying abroad in the usa, in german with Engluish subtitles,

the music is to me like "charge of the walkirires"....OMST is a constant companion while websurfing... :)

Buddy, there must be a hundred or so post about this movie. I must agree that it is a very interesting and powerful film. I love it and would classify it as one of the best movies of all time. Has anyone seen this movie? (saying it in a sarcastic voice of course). Good one.

I really liked the movie, only complaint I have is the ending, really stupid. Just seemed to divert from the story.

Caldric > In what fashion do you feel that the ending diverts from the rest of the movie? Is it the fact that the crew doesn´t recieve a heros welcome, but on the contrary being massacred by allied fighters?
Is it the fact that this hardly would be the ending of any US made war movie that distubs you?

Yes thats it you figured me out.

Actually I just did not like the ending, has nothing to do with heros or any other aspect of simplicity that you are trying to tag me with. For sure I do not judge movies by where they are made, unlike many here. I found the ending to be rather silly.

GREAT movie. I saw it when first released, in German w/English subtitles. Then when it was released on video here in the US it was dubbed. I was so disappointed, it's just wasn't the same movie. Finally a few years ago it was re-released in German again. That's when I bought a copy. And now it's been re-re-released as an extended version-directors cut, in German.
Thats the one to see , now it's even better than before.

Yes, that's the one i hired, it was the recent "Director's Cut" version of it. It was a Great Movie. I actually agree with Caldric, the end wasn't that good, i mean one minute they are trying to raise it from 280 meters to the surface and in the next scene they are coming into port. Everything else is well set out except the end IMO. Cheers. :)

I've only seen the director's cut dubbed so I don't know what i've missed.

(personlay I thought i was dubbed VERY well)
