Does anyone know if there are FPS games (WW1 or WW2) in which you can play the German side?

Verdun is a game that's been given good reviews and there's a gem coming out in 2017 that's looks great.

Down below is a render of a K98, basically what it's gonna look like in game.

It's an interesting phenomena of many WWII FPS games in that the German side is not playable at all in many. I can see where you're coming from on this.

Fortunately, there are a few decent WWII FPS games where you can play the Germans. One is the Battlefield 1942 series, a fairly old game by now, but apparently very well-done.

A newer, more hardcore series is the Red Orchestra series. It's a lot more realistic than a lot of other FPS games, but if you like historically accurate game, I think this will appeal.

Finally, there is a upcoming WWII FPS game called Battalion 1944. Since it hasn't been released yet, I'm not going to assume much, but it is causing a fair bit of excitement in some corners. Be worth watching how it progresses though.

Hope these have been helpful. Viel glück!

Then there's Heroes and Generals, a FPS MMO.
