Advanced Squad Leader Scenario with Module Beyond Valor , Map Board 6
Scenario Title: Fortress Manner
Location: Posen , Poland
Date: February 22, 1945

Situation: The Large Forts at Posen were to receive Concentrated Heavy Bombardment to speed Soviet Clearing Operations of this Vital Supply Route
For Soviet Forces.
At one such Fort, Soviet Shock and Assault Groups ran into a large work in front of the Fort that would have to be crossed or breached under fire. The Forts considered obsolete by Germans, were manned hap hazard by SS Officer Cadets and Fortress Troops that held up Soviet Advance for 2 Days.

SSR: All Woods are STONE Rubble

Balance:
Germans: The Large Stone Building is Fortified
Russians: Stavka Reserves SU 122/447 x3/7-0 Leader/DC to Turn One Rein Enter From East

Rules Note: AFV Tracked Vehicles May Enter Stone Buildings/Fortified Buildings
1. AFV may Enter Fortified Building Location that contains Opposing Infantry/
the Opposing INfantry must take PAATC to attack AFV/and may not fire on AFV Support Infantry Following AFV
Infantry following AFV may NOT Enter with AFV into Fortified Building Location , may move next to Opposing Infantry Fortified Locations
and use Advancing Fire Phase, to attack Opposing Infantry in such Locations

Tactical Adjustments:
The German Player , after, review of Available Forces, takes the Balance Provision, to setup in the Large Stone Building Fortified.
1.The Balance Provision, Fortified allows the Large 88 Flak Gun to be setup at Ground Level, in the Stone Building Fortified + 4 TEM
along with German HMG /127 Crews/ for Mutual Support
2. Turn One Reinforcements , StuGIII G/436 x 3/ Enter to Postition South Side of Fort Behind Stone Rubble to cover Side and Front approach

The German Adjustment allows the Russian Player to move SU 152 with 2 Squads to crash thru Level 2 Stone Building and secure 2 of the Stone Buildings on that side
Rifle Elements/Flame throwers

German Player pulls all units back for Central Concentrated Defensive holding Main Fort and Smaller Stone Building in Front/ + 5 TEM
will move along South Edge as far as possible to take positions close to South side of Fort

German Player setup and Move First:

Turn One: Russian Player Turn, SU 152 move to North Side to crash Thru Stone Wall , Thru Stone Building to Fire on Fort From Stone Building
The SU 152 Receives the + 3 Stone TEM/ Cost to Enter Stone Building 1/2 /13 Move Points/+ Bog Check
1. Two Rifle Squads are detached to Secure Stone Buildings that are undefended

Rifle Elements will move along South side thru Rubble

Turn One Reinforcements: Assault Guns Follow SU 152 along North Side/Stage for concerted attack
Rifle elements follow up along South Side Rubble Attack

Victory Conditions : ALL Stone Buildings in German Setup Area are German Controlled at Game Start.
The side that Controls 3 or More Stone Buildings at Game End Wins
Building Control is determined by the Number of Good Order Squads
2 half Squads/Crew/ = Squad
Setup: All Russian O/B Forces Setup On/East Hex row C
Balance Provision Russian Rein Group Enters on After Turn One From East

Victory Condition Example: In the Large Fort , The German Player has 3 Good Order Squads, The Russian Player 4 Good Order Squads in the Large Fort, The German Player would have to eject at least Two of the Russian Squads to maintain Control of Building

German Player Setup:
1. Stone Building J 8 may be designated as having +5 TEM/is not considered Fortified
2. ALL Stone Buildings in German Setup are German Controlled at Start
3.Building J8, Level Two Multi Hex Stone Building , provides vantage Point to Place German MG s to break Up Russian Infantry Groups
Setup on Level One/Two prevent Russian AFV s using BYpass Freeze and other Tactics to suppress Fire Points
4. After Setup ALL German Units Setup Concealed
Russian Player Observations:
1. High Command Orders direct that the German Strong point be quickly reduced, to allow clear supply Route of Soviet Forces Driving toward Berlin
2.SU 152 Must place Fire on German MGs Setup in Strong Point Building J 8
3. 10-2 HMG Fire support Group 447 x 3 setup at the Wall , Place Fire on German Guns/MG
3. Balance Provision SU 122 , has Smoke Round Capability to Place Smoke on German Fire Points to allow Shock Groups to move uP
a. Smoke Must BE the First action of Any Fire Phase, if any other Fire Power attack take place first,Smoke may not be fired that turn

1. add MMG x 2 to Fire Support Group setup /10-2 Leader/447 x 3/HMG/ SU 52
Wall advantage TEM + 2 Hazardous Front line Position + 2 Wall TEM/SU 152 Hull Down vs Fire From German 88 Gun
2. Russian 628 Smoke Squads setup Riders on 2 of SU 152, move down the Road to Place Smoke for Shock Group to move up
a. Rein Group SU 122 w/628 Smoke Squad Follow SU 152
