Good evening steve,

"Komm und sieh", russian "Иди и смотри", english "Come and See" for sure.

We watched the movie for the very first time in a small cinema in Oldenburg/Germany in the late 1980s, the best and the most horrible
so-called anti-war movie ever, at least for my very personal taste.

Come and See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Come_and_See

Seeing the same movie in the TV, or on Video several times later, is not to compare to the first encounter in the cinema with the movie.
The movie changed my life, like "Paths of Glory" from the year 1957.

I am not able to watch both movies again, never.

28 Soldiers (I believe this is also known as Battle for Moscow and Panfilov's 28) - You Tube (Russian)
Svezda/The Star (Russian)
Katyn (Polish)
Canal (about the Warsaw Uprising and released in 1957.) (Polish)
