I’ve got a few Trenker films. Der Rebel- love the part with the logs knocking soldiers down. As an American myself, Der Kaiser von Kalifornien and Der Verlorene Sohne are quite interesting.

"Der Rebell" (1932)

Info: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Der_Rebell_(1932)
Adolf Hitler was so fascinated by the film that he watched it several times. When Joseph Goebbels cited role models in his first speech to German filmmakers on March 28, 1933, among the four titles he named (Battleship Potemkin, Anna Karenina, The Nibelungen) was The Rebel. He particularly emphasized great skill in this example, which was just as important as attitude.
The film is still impressive today, simply beautifully produced, and also filmed, but the above criticism should not be left out, still a classic.

Thanks for posting “Kaiser”….my copy is a vhs tape with subtitles (same with “Rebel”)
His films have a lot of action and I like the music used. One film I also have is “Condottieri”, his most Catholic film which irritated Hitler and Goebbels because of its subtle hints of rebellion.
I don’t have subtitles on that one but it’s a pretty good film visually. Trenker reminds me a little of Mel Gibson - a director and star of his own films.
