My mother Ingrid started to travel the east african countries already in the late 1960s, she was fascinated, as she later told me.
She visited the "Momella Game Lodge" in Tansania as a tourist two or three times, back then in the possesion of the Hardy Krüger family.

I have never visited Africa.
