Geiseln der SS - Hitler's Attentäter / Hostages of the SS - Hitler's assassins

A 2-part documentary:
After the assassination attempt on Hitler, the relatives of the assassins were arrested by the SS as “prisoners of a family”. In April 1945, they were assembled with other prominent special prisoners in the Dachau concentration camp, their fate uncertain. The SS plan to break through to the south. During the trip to the Alps, the hostages are faced with the momentous question: escape - or trust in an uncertain rescue.

April 1945. 139 prominent special and clan prisoners of the SS are deported to the Alps. The prisoners could serve as a bargaining chip in negotiations with the Allies. On the journey they experience six days between death and freedom, their fate in the hands of increasingly nervous criminals. But the hostages turn the tide with a clever trick: they call on the Wehrmacht for help...
