A mysterious incident in the madness of the Battle of Berlin at the end of the Second World War: when the Red Army shot down a civilian Lufthansa aircraft near the Brandenburg villages of Glienig and Buckow on April 20, 1945, the incident did not destroy the lives of the passengers and their families , but also leaves deep traces and numerous questions at the scene of the accident: Who was on board the plane and who was allowed to leave Berlin, which was being bombed by the Allies - even on a symbolic day like Adolf Hitler's birthday - at that point in time? Hi,i have seen the movie on Arte and later on YOUTUBE.Glienig und Buckow,so many questions like ,the victoms should have had relatives,neighbours ,friends ,children etc.Why did not they survey the archives like Red Cross or later Arolsen?Even the name son the monument are incorrect,al least 4 of the names.There ewas no way lo leave Berlin without conscent.Ernst Grawitz asked Hitler to leave,Hitler refused,so Grawitz killed his family and himself in Berlin.No papers?No leave!Maybe shot at the spot .Why did it take so long to find a monument with some names in 1970?Anyone?Did I miss something?
Crazy story ,but most likely a true story.Great Film though,well made in b/w.Gonna see it again.Cheers,
