Well, I think so. Many also in the 1950s, 60s, 70s, etc. It is hard to find an accurate war movie. Michael Caine a Korean War combat vet advised a director on a KW film and he was told they have to film the way they do or technically correct speech/movement would not work on film. Which is what I disliked about Steel Helmet directed by Samuel Fuller who had much combat experience in the ETO.

I think "Fury" was fairly well liked by general audiences.

For WW2 buffs much of it is terrible. U-571 is also disliked by WW2 buffs.

I didn't mind Fury. At least up until the final battle with the Waffen SS troops. Then it lost me.

U-571 was sooo awful.

Fury was awful in one sense, and that is that the entire move is one cliche after another about the US Army and Sherman tanks in WW 2.
