WHERE WAS ‘HITLER: THE RISE OF EVIL’ FILMED

I am delighted to share the final material from my WWII-related 2019 trip to Berlin and Prague. A detailed 10 000-word historical journey across all main locations of ‘Hitler: The Rise of Evil’. In continuation to ‘Schindler’s list’ and ‘The Pianist’, I invite you to study the three-hour biography with Robert Carlyle depicting Hitler, scene-by-scene, location after location. A detailed analysis of historical inaccuracies, the comparison of locations in the movie, historical ones, and filming locations. Prague played Vienna, Munich, and Berlin and I managed to find all the key sites where the CBS series was filmed. As always, more than 140+ historical photos/shots/modern photos, a bibliography, for you to make your own historical journey.

Although I can appreciate this topic / thread, I must say that it is one of the worst Hitler films I’ve seen. I remember that it came out in 2003. I taped it on my vcr (still have it) The film was controversial and if I remember correctly it was because it originally had tried to “humanize “ Hitler - it was reworked to please the producers and public who were outraged by this. What we got instead was a “Damien Hitler Thorne” right out of the Omen series. Evil from birth, he even beats his dog and froths at the mouth , spitting pastry crumbs while giving speeches. The film is a rip off of John Faro’s 1944 “The Hitler Gang” - a film which was made for propaganda but is far superior to the above (and only 90 minutes). Thumbs way down.

Sir Ian Kershaw , originally a consultant on the film later split and didn’t want his name associated with it because its inaccuracies and general ridiculousness. One of the reviewers at the time called it “Hitler for stupid people”.

Well-said, J. I appreciate this type of topic as well, but this particular movie doesn't deserve such an attention. Any attention. It's simply really, really bad. I didn't even click on the link in the first post. I respect Robert Carlyle as an actor, but he's one of the worst possible choices for the role of Hitler. Unless it's some ridiculous parody. And this movie is indeed ridiculous, but apparently it wasn't meant to be a parody.
