Best portrait of a german soldier on a movie
Re: Best portrait of a german soldier on a movie
Have any actual WW2 German officers acted in any post-WW2 films? English or Ger.language. Wonder how they would compare vs. actors if any have.

German comedian, humorist and actor Vicco von Bülow, best known as Loriot served as an Oberleutnant of Panzergrenadierregiment 3 in the 3rd Panzer Division at the eastern front. Postwar he had a supporting role in Bernhard Wicki's The Bridge (as Stabsfeldwebel Zeisler) and a minor role in The Longest Day.

Hardy Krüger and Klaus Kinski were ex-combatants who acted later in the war movies.
But none of them held officer rank

A book on BESATZUNG DORA (1943, banned) - THE MAKING OF THE CREW OF THE DORA -- was published in 2016 and is still in print. It is 298 pages long, using film director Karl Ritter's personal, heretofore unpublished, diaries to tell the story of the filming of DORA. It has 90 B&W mostly unknown photos, maps and sketches; and includes a fascinating account of the month of October 1942 when Ritter and a crew and cast of 43 men lived and filmed at the Fliegerhorst Gostkino, south of the Battle of Leningrad, with Long-Range Reconnaissance squadrons used in the movie.

[email protected],
the photo of Mr. Ralph Fiennes as the evil Nazi typical, what else to expect.
The worldwide "projection" of the evil Nazi, the concentration camp monster, as expected and always desired.
Evil, inhuman, murderous, completely sick, very rightly executed on the gallows in 1946.
Still disturbing is the Reputation of Fiennes as Amon Göth.
Many identify with this person, this murderer and human abuser, who was portrayed so very perfectly, not least by Fiennes.
The "cool" Nazi, any of us would be ashamed to have this man in our relatives list, Hollywood produced a memorial that did not do this man justice, a monster was eliminated.
Today's "image" of Göth is completely wrong, thoroughly shaped by this feature film, Hollywood, nothing more.

Marschall Vorwärts:
"I hear you say it's impossible, but it has to be done! I have given my promise to Wellington, and you surely don't want me to break it? Push yourselves, my children, and we'll have victory!"
71, wounded, ready to fight it out ... what's not to like?

Who portrayed Gebhard Leberecht von Blücher, the film is unfortunately unknown to me?
Leberecht is a rare male given name of German origin.
Thank you for any further advice.

Russian actor Sergo Zakariadze, in Sergei Bondarchuk's Waterloo (1970); Rod Steiger as Napoleon and Christopher Plummer as Wellington, etc. Some historical misses, but entertaining as hell.

For a WW1 Officer I see the actor who was the squadron commander in "The Blue max" and played Rommel; in the patton movie, Karl Michael Vogler
