I really like Cross Of Iron. A very 60's anti-war feel to it, but does have some credible set pieces. Also the cast all look REALLY weather beaten and worn out!! Another realistic touch.

Good Choice :D

I like Cross of Iron, two. It would be my number two best movie.

My favourite one is "Where Eagles Dare". I love the opening and everytime i watch it i thing how close is the game "Return To Castle Wolfenstein" to the movie.

I dont know why everyone likes Steiner!
Its awfull!

Nearly all Germans are wearing an M36 Tunic and an MP40.
Many officers have so long hair that they would get hanged in ww2.

The US have too modern Tanks.

Steiner ist the most weird Landser.
When he tries to rescue that french, he kills infact more Germans than he killed Allied soldiers, and oh come on, sure Oberfeldwebel Steiner negotiated with the Allies to end the War.

I hate Steiner.

P.S. APropos Star Wars... did you ever notice that Darth Vaders Helmet is like an Stahlhelm and the Empire Officers Uniforms are looking like an Mix of ww2 Nazi and Jap Tunics? (incl. Breeches), the Lasergun is an c96 Broomhandle Mauser, the Military March of Vader is pretty German, and all the music is Wagnerian, the show is like an Riefenstahl Film, and when the evil ones are AMrching you think the Reich is marching into Paris.

I didn't see the second part, but the first one is quite nice to watch, if you don't look for errors all the time...

I also noticed the similarities in Star Wars...

Vaders helmet looks like a mixture between a German ww2 elmet and a japanese samurai helmet.

Also in Star Wars:

In addition to the Broomhandle Mausers,

The regular Stormtrooper blaster is a converted Sterling Arms Mk4/L2A3 Submachine Gun

The HUGE blasters carried by the Sandtroopers are converted Lewis Mark I machine guns

The other big blasters carried by Sandtroopers are MG-15's

One of the Bounty Hunters in The Empire Strikes back is holding an MG-42 with the bipod and stock removed.

Greedo's blaster is a Ruger MK 1 pistol

The Rebel soldiers on Hoth use converted MP-44's

Some of the Bounty Hunters and Stormtroopers use EXTREMELY modified MP-44's (they are almost unrecognisable)

The Stormtroopers are also seen carrying modified MG-34's

the list goes on...
