I never said that I didn't like his character; I just said that it wasn't very realistic.

I agree, but believe it or not as far as farb is concerned I have not noticed any inaccuracies in their uniforms.....of all the episodes I've seen anyway.

This is huge. Saving Private Ryan broke the rules of authenticy time and time again. A bridge too far is one of the worst movies for the representation of German soldiers as well.

Not saying I didn't enjoy the movies, but they didn't pay too much attention to history.

Quote of Surfkorps:
Sergeant Schultz in the TV series "Hogan's Heroes" (1965). But there remains a certain irony: John Banner was Jewish.
In addition to Banner and Robert Clary, other cast members of the "Hogan's Heroes" show were also Jewish actors. Werner Klemperer, who played Col. Klink was Jewish, the son of musical conductor, Otto Klemperer who fled the National Socialist regime in Germany. Howard Caine, who played the "Gestapo" officer, Major Hochsteter was also Jewish. Interesting to note.

Technically there isn't much difference between Austrians and Germans.

It seems that a few Irish actors have been playing German roles...and Ralph Feinnes was quite good in the role of Amon Goeth.

Who was the man who played Hitler in an Indiana Jones movie? He did not look like Hitler to me.
