But must they not be Elephants? I mean the tracand stuff, can't really be abything else right? And where could they have got them from? Really strange beacuse this scene is suposed to happen in Iraq during the Gulf war or something

in some movies replica tanks are used to look like other tanks . in Kellys hero's the "tiger tanks " are not true tigers.the give away is the front sprokets /drive, is not true but the sherman n half tracks n jeeps are real. German tanks have distintive front drive sprokets . the elephants had 128 mm but a few had 88's thier weight was aganst them as a tank killer as they couldn't manuver fast enuff to aquire new targets . but they could take out any thing they hit .in the movie "a bridge to far" the Panther tank is not real panther either but the german half track is real as are the staff car of Gen moldel , and of course the jeeps .

Take a look,

the caption from YouTube.

The Episode "Storm Front II" also features the Colditz and Secret Army veteran
Christopher Neame as a German general.

The technical director probably said "throw in some CG tanks for this flashback scene" and the Elephant 3d model was the first one the visual fx guys found in their library and used that. :)

The 2007 Finish film Tali-Ihatala has already been mentioned in this thread, but no one told me there was a running KV-1! I guess the Parola KV-1 is only runner left?

The following is my list of original World War 2 tanks in this film:

2-3 StuG IIIs
2 T-34-76s
At least 2 T-34-85s
1 KV-1
At least one T-26

The fact that most if not all these vehicles are notable war veterans is amazing!

KV-1 and ISU-152 are based on T-54, though they did a very good job converting. I made the same mistake at first:

Thanks Daimyo for the correction regarding the KV-1 and ISU-152. I have yet get my hands on the Tali-Ihatala DVDs, but Youtube leaks looked good!

Panzerrat wrote:I don't beleive this is the vehicle that was in "Kelly's Heros" as the Road wheels are undressed in that movie & clearly showing it's origin of a T-34, As for the T-44 being in Saving Private Ryan??? (a possabiliy) but my money is on the Tiger/T-34 from "kelly's Heros" also appearing in Saving Private Ryan....
The Saving Private Ryan Tiger is made on the body of a Russian T55 i was involved with the Film its not the same Tiger as used in the Kellys Heros film
