here are two Stugs from latest finnish war movie "Etulinjan edessä"
from the Battlefront.com forum
Both StuG's are real allright. The one in the front is Ps.531-4
(http://www.andreaslarka.net/ps531004/ps531004.html)

and the one in the back is Ps.531-18
(http://www.andreaslarka.net/ps531018/ps531018.html).

Both are restored and functioning. The light in the driver's visor of
Ps.531-4 is a reflection of the gun's blast.

Do you know if it will be out with English subtitles (or Danish, for that matter)?

I think there is one on "A Bridge Too Far" during the Gräbner attack.

Interestingly, the battle sequence where the Leopard drives through the building was in actual fact a mistake but looked convincing enough to make the final cut.

I saw a couple of films 10 years back "Closely Observed Trains" and "Kanal" which features what looked like original Hanomag Ausf D halftracks and a working Goliath sprengpanzer respectively.

Funnily enough, in "Highlander" (starring Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery), there's a brief scene set in WW2, where one can see a Sdkfz 251(?) flashing by. Really impressive - using original(-looking) stuff for just a few seconds, when big-budget movies use M3's...

gasmasktrooper wrote:Theres two tigers in "kellys heroes" i dont remmember it to much but they did look really accurate,i think! They may be fake, but its one of the only old war films with accurate war elements like the sherman and instead of using american 30cal brownings for the germans, stuff like that this film stand out.
As far as I know there ar only one running Tiger I left in the world (Tiger 131 http://www.tiger-tank.com/)

So all Tigers in movies are fake. The ones in Kellys Heroes have their turret to far back (or was in front) and the balance in the picture is clearly wrong. The easiest way that i know of identifying the fakes (as they all are) is that the tracks don't gu "upp" in the front. Compare those two pictures, one of a Tiger I one of a Sherman. (these are just to compare the shape of the tracks).

I hate this movie too. Germans with tanks from the USA and Robert Shaw is an awful german officer.

Kindly regards,

Matt Horn wrote:The Me109s and He111's in Battle of Britain, of course they were spanish built but looked the real McCoy.
Well sort of the so called Bf109s are Spanish built like you said Ha1109s built by Hispano to be exact but looking like "the real McCoy" i don't think so. Look at the two pics below the top one is a Bf109E-3 or 4 as flown during the battle of Britian. Powered by a Daimler Benz 601 whereas the bottom pic is a photo from the movie Battle of Britian of a Ha1109 powered by a Rolls Royce merlin. I'm also sure that the He111s you speak of were also powered by Merlins.

I believe the Panzer III in Enemy at the Gates and in The Piano may be the same vehicle, and based on an FV432 as the StuG III was in Band of Brothers.

Can anyone take some video caps and post them?
