Re: Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
Thanks Mark,
another riddle, the most evil "German" ever, at least in the modern film history before the year 1945...
Please name the actor, also the movie... ?
Hans
P.S. Interesting in this context, the "Nazi paragon" of the time was not a German citizen at the time, but the typical German "bad guy" was the role of a lifetime, an excellent performance...

Source: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fünf_Gräber_bis_KairoFive Graves to Cairo is considered one of the best U.S. war films from the World War II era. Billy Wilder largely avoided endowing the German soldiers with the stereotypes common in such films.
Through the differentiated portrayal of the characters, the film gains intensity and yet never leaves a moment of doubt as to what it is advocating. The Nazis appear all the more dangerous and, in the end, all the more despicable because of the intelligence Wilder grants them.
Erich von Stroheim's portrayal of Erwin Rommel is considered one of his best acting performances ever.

Good riddle, Herr von thoma
Part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Iy7FgqxA-E8
Part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab-xojH2PKQ
* The two excerpts are more than enough, the feature film is still more than scary...
But I personally think that you also have to endure these scenes, the reality is simply unimaginable, as well.
Another new riddle, please.. ?

Szabadsag,Szerelem????? 1956 takeover
Re: Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
It certainly is Heroes Square (Hősök Tere), Budapest , so you might be right about Szabadság, szerelem aka Children of Glory but come to think of it the movie is in colour .
