Waleed,

looking at your posted photo, the "Korean War" comes to my mind, not only because of the former airplanes...

You found the right stuff! Yes one of my favourites. Have seen it several times and will probably see it again some day. Well done Helmut.

For sure the german actor Herr Werner Peters right in the photo.
(His head speaks for itself...)

The performer left (Officer) very well known, but the name has slipped, sorry..?

Werner Peters (Schauspieler) https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werner_Pe ... auspieler)

Herr Heinz Weiss in "Strafbataillon 999 (Film)" https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strafbataillon_999_(Film)

Yes, Punishment Bataillon aka Strafbataillon 999 (original title), where in reality 999 was a full division.

Toughness plus temper: author Heinz G. Konsalik ("The Doctor of Stalingrad") and director Harald Philipp ("The Old Forester's House") relied on this tried-and-tested recipe, especially in German war films, for their elaborate work about a World War II probation battalion. They offer a whole catalog of familiar standard motifs of local film confection: the noble-minded doctor and researcher with the obligatory self-experiment, the decent officers and the bullying non-commissioned officers, the loving Russian girl and the brutal partisan, the crude-humorous "Schützen Arsch" with East Prussian dialect and the lieutenant with an Ordensburg past. The battle scenes offer the usual effective motifs, such as the Soviet tank already known from "08/15", which turns around above the foxhole.

There is nothing to add to this "Wikipedia" criticism, the text speaks for itself, even if you don't like to suffer Wikipedia...

Yesterday, on the german TV once again.
I remember my mother coming home from the cinema in our village after this film, she was talking about infinite landscapes, about fields full of flowers, about winter, and very much emotion, she was very moved, long ago...
