Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
Re: Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
Herr von thoma,
I recognize a French actor on the left, the Knight's Cross holder is a well-known German actor, but unfortunately I can't think of his name ?
A production about the French "Resistance" ? (1970s/1980s...)

Cold, cold, at the left it's Otto-Ernst Remer with actor Karl-Heinz von Hassel, playing Major Remer in this TV movie/documentary...
No Private Schultz, I wish you the same for the New Year.Private Schultz? No, changed my mind.... Happy new year anyway. ;o)

Operation Walküre?
Re: Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
Thanks to Herr von thoma,
Operation Walküre (Two-part German TV production) from the year 1971 (Karl-Heinz von Hassel as Otto Ernst Remer...)
Link: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation ... rnsehfilm)
Part 1
Herr Gorque probably right...
Hans
P.S. Of course, a mistake to confuse the elderly Otto Ernst Remer with a French actor, but certainly forgivable in view of the many films and documentaries.
Unfortunately, I don't remember the last broadcast of the two-parter, but the ratings are excellent.

Re: Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
I sat in my office late last week when this one came on TCM, with no background noise or TV,PC on, just sat in my big chair and actually watched it.
AN easy riddle that has been discussed here many times in the past. The baqck and forth with the British SBO and Siato was well written and cated, I watched for the facial and subtle expressions between the two in scenes, well acted. Did not care for any of the William Holden scenes, or his character in the least, seemed out of place and added on for the USA audieance. So post a new one riddle as this is easy asd cream pie

"The Bridge on the River Kwai"
Colonel Bogey March (Original)
All time classic, everyone just excellent, everyone!
Inspecting the bridge
Great, probably one of the very best (war) movies ever!
Seen a hundred times, over and over again....

Band of Brothers?
Re: Game: guess from which war/historical movie is the picture?
"The Eagle Has Landed", 1976
Right Treat Williams as Captain Harry Clark https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Eagle ... ded_(film)
Nice movie, very entertaining...
Historically, of course, nonsense, but perfectly cast and in the equipment excellent, down to the smallest detail...
Typical example for british war movies, very good!
On my wish list, but which DVD version to buy ?
