"Combat" with Vic Morrow was about a ETO infantry squad

"...relations with the West quickly deteriorated...."

Given the bad faith of the US empire, I'm not surprised.
Bad Faith? you mean like having active spy rings in your allies nations like the Russian did?

like murdering 10,000 Poles at Katyn?

Like threatening US troops with Murder as they returned soviet POW's to soviet niceties?

https://history.army.mil/books/wwii/Occ ... m#contents

On 19 January 1946, a detail of Third Army troops -men and officers far from pleased with their assignment- undertook to put 399 former Soviet soldiers aboard a train at Dachau.

The Russians refused to leave their quarters and, after tear gas was used to force them out, 9 were found to have hanged themselves, 2 had stabbed themselves to death, and 20 others had to be hospitalized for self-inflicted wounds.

Of the 368 Russians eventually put aboard the train, 11 were found at the last minute not to be Soviet citizens and six escaped en route.

In a dismal final scene in the Soviet zone, Russian soldiers threatened to shoot the American guards if they attempted to leave the train. Hoping to avoid another such series of events, Third Army postponed further shipments while it reworked its procedures and awaited the results of appeals from the Russian Orthodox clergy to the President and the Pope.60

Did the Russians do anything that the US empire didn't?

Sad to say I like The World at War less each time I watch it and like The Great War more. I find TWaW achingly Anglocentric. The places that the real war was fought were China and the USSR, which are treated as also-rans.
As Zhukov said with Lend Lease, the RKKA could not only not have won but continue operations
There was an intercontinental division of labour in which the British and increasingly the US provided supplies to Russia and Russia did the fighting. I'm not denigrating the other allies but pointing out that a telly programme in the 70s is rather dated because of its Anglocentrism.
Will you look at that, way to go ignoring the US and UK , Australians fighting in North Africa, Mediterranean, Asia, Pacific as though only russia ever counts and only the USSR ever did anything. Did Russia provide 1 tank company to the western allies? send any convoys to aid Canada?

besides murdering Poles what did the russians do for the Allies

Did the Russians do anything that the US empire didn't?
We didn't execute 20K allies at Katyn, russian Empire did (oh Wait, they were by treaty Nazi Allies then)

We didn't enslave Western Europe, russia did to Eastern Europe. we didn't go into western Europe in 44 and execute the leaders in place of the national resistance groups, deport other, Your homebois did

We didn't murder our own POW's when they were liberated and returned to US control, your homebois did to those poor SOB russian conscripts who fell into nazi captivity.

We didn't torture our Own Pilots after they escaped captivity for being polluted by the Reich, Your Homebois did

Most Liberated Soviet POW faced at best an SMERsh interrogation as it was a death penalty offence in the USSR to become a POW. At worst many were shot as soon as the transports reached Soviet controlled areas

there is a Soviet P-39 Ace Alexander Petrovich Filatov of 30 GIAP who had the very very bad luck to be shot down twice over German areas and captured twice, escape twice, face the SMERsh twice, as did P-39 ace Vladimir Lavrinenkov

Which Army were by Treaty nazi Allies, invaded Poland together and murdered thousands of Poles, Latvians, Lithuanians, Estonians, Hungarians, Rumanians, etc. and brought not freedom but depredations

Which army needed US and UK Lend lease to feed and arm itself

OK, I know just one guy in the picture, Forrest Tucker from F Troop.....(far right)
but I haven't looked his filmography on IMDb until today....
Here's my answer.....is that right?
blue yonder.jpg
I haven't seen it...... it's a story about the B-29 Superfortress planes.

In just 6 years later, another film with new bombers that can go 300mph faster than B-29 and higher from 31,000 to 50,000ft !!
B 52.jpg
......and now, 62 years old B-52Hs are going to get new RR engines soon and expected to serve another 30-40 more years!!!
Amazing.... what a beautiful plane!

Yes! you are correct.

Initially thought this would be too easy with Forrest Tucker in the image

Tucker plays a former B-24 pilot tortured by having had to turn back from the Infamous Ploesti mission and thought a coward.

Interestingly, the movie also has a scene about MSG Henry Red Erwin MoH

The British and French after the Munich Agreement. Which country had no slave empire between 1918 and 1939? Oh and I think you mean which country took back western Belarus and western Ukraine in 1939 after losing them during the Polish aggression of 1919-1921? (No guesses for which country allied with Germany in 1934.)
