Any of you watched Они сражались за Родину(They Fought for the Motherland, 1975) the film about a Soviet infantry unit which fought a desperate fight against reckless wave of Unternahmen Blau in 1942, and eventually found their opportunity to counterattack in Stalingrad?

In the fall of 1942, pushed by a massive German offensive, a Soviet infantry unit continues retreating without knowing its end. In desperate battles, comrades fall one by one... Despite of their huge losses, their morale is still high. Sneered by people saying "Until when and where are you going to retreat?", they are waiting for an opportunity to fight back.

Getting reinforcements at last, they went to Stalingrad.....

This movie was made in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the Victory Day.

I think this is the best movie regarding Stalingrad. Even though this is a propaganda movie, being a propaganda movie doesn't mean that it can't be a good movie.

Well, I watched it and found it quite boring, maybe because I know only little Russian. Battle scenes were ok, but the majority of the film shows soldiers talking about something and that is not very interesting. Also the battles are fought only somewhere near Stalingrad, not in the city itself.
