Band of brothers...again...

#1

Yea, i know...another topic about band of brothers. But it was really an awesome movie/series i though. One of the best ive ever seen. Im just wondering who all has seen the Series and read to book too. I though the book was jsut as good. Not as personal but filled in alot of the gaps. Like at the begining of the D-day landing, when the next morning they go to take the 88(which turned out to be 105s) Buck Compten Throws a freking pineapple grenade like a baseball!!! and it hits the german in the back of the heaad and exploded on contact. And its true!? I just think stuff like that is so crazy....keep the response comeing!

I enjoyed both the book and mini-series quite a bit, both had there strong points. I found that the book had alot of detail in some area's that the series lacked however there was part's of the series that were really fleshed out in comparison to the book which was really vague.

Just saw all the episodes back to back. 8O

It was a marathon, I can tell you, but well worth the effort.

I liked the start and the end the best. The winter scenes were a bit dull at times, but still quite good when viewed within the context of the overall package.

To sum up, do yourself a favor...

For anyone who hasn't seen BofB and has access to UK TV, BBC2 is beginning a complete rerun on 27th October from 22.00hrs GMT.

I've not read the book yet, but if past experience is anything to go by books tend to be better than film...

i thought the same thing too. I think the two episodes in the snow were to give a perspective of the winter during WW2.. it was an important part of the story BUT it did NOT make for good televison, those two episodes were really boring, especially the medic episode in comparision to the other episodes...

I have seen it all twice, liked it a lot (not because I'm fan of allies or how they made it all look in there). It's very detailed, very good acting.

For those who want to download it - I know iMesh Lite has all 10 parts, in different quality (some quite good), but all watchable.

Haven't read a book but heard it's pretty much same.

Also, is this true BoB runs in TV at Finland? For me price of DVDbox is quite high as I have seen all parts twice already, but who knows...:)
