Re: Worst Propaganda movie?
Karl Ritter's anti Communist film 'GPU'. Really badly acted and in many ways a precursor to the Hollywood shock/horror anti Communist films of the 1950s. GPU was made in 1942 so Ritter could give full reign to his anti Communist views.
Another Ritter film which I've just purchased on DVD is 'Kadetten', a 1939 production that wasn't released at the time due to the Nazi/Soviet pact (it was finally released in December 1941). It's based around events during the Seven Year's War and is actually quite good. Aimed at the Hitler Youth market, it tells of a group of cadets from the Potsdam Military Academy who are taken hostage when Cossacks seize Berlin.
Ritter's films are still banned in Germany though I think that GPU should be banned because it is so bad!
