I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time, we had a hail bomb. And for five hours, I walked up. We didn't find one of them, not one stinking dink body. The smell, you know, that gasoline smell, smells like... victory

The soldiers are having a "field" party on their "home"-made stuff. A soldier exlaims (translated): "The ......... soldier is so tough he eats iron and craps chains".

Sure. I cannot vouch for the exact translation. I read the book and film texts in Norwegian. And a long time ago it was. But the quote stuck!

great. I watched the movie several years ago, didn't remember exactly this phrase, but it sounded like it, besides, there aren't so many Finnish war movies released outside Finland :)

Hi,

This thread is in danger of dying out which is a shame as it has been really popular with all visitors to the Movie section of the forum. So allow me to post another quote to get us back on track:

"We know how hard it is for an army to cross the channel. The last little corporal to try it came a cropper. So don't threaten or dictate to us... until you're marching up Whitehall!"

Best wishes from Scotland,

DAVID
