The psychological thriller "The Bunker (2001)" directed by B-movie director Rob Green? The reference to tunnels and Charley Boorman...

:D

I'm glad I was able to figure it out then.

I have one:
~~"A Devil? Now you listen to me. The Devil ...... wears a black uniform, has a Death's Head in his cap, and calls himself a Sturmbannführer!"

Hints: this is from a film made in the early eighties that has a great score (comoposed by a german electronic/ambient/newage group founded in the late sixties called Tangerine Dream). The film was based on a book by sci-fi author Paul Wilson. Ian Mc Kellen has a feature role.
It's a pretty good film.

It should be easy... :)

That would be from The Keep (1983). The line is very close to one from the novel it was based on.

I was surprised to see by forum search how many old threads we had about this film and book, only one of which I joined in. The book was much better as is often the case, but I have scarcely heard what author Wilson thought of it. Not having thought about this movie in awhile, and long before the Lord ofthe Rings film trilogy, I hadn't known that Ian McKellen was in it.

Ah good post, I read some the thread. :)

I think the film The Keep is brilliant. I'm not a huge fan of Michael Mann, but I enjoyed his use of Tangerine Dream sounds and in this case, The Keep's dream-like ambiance. A very young Alberta Watson was in it and so was a young Gabriel Byrne. I watched it as a kid, and about 3 more times as a teenager... and only in my teens did I discover it was a book as well.

I'd love to read the book! I hope to get round to it someday, if I can find it in Chile. I'm really curious now that I read your post on the Keep thread. Thanks for posting the link.

Paperback editions of The Keep should be easily available for low cost, although I am astounded at the original hardcover's selling price quoted in this link. I bought it for $10 twenty-six years ago and thought that was expensive at the time.

Yes, Tangerine Dream did an interesting film score.

=============================

Here is an entire movie scene, such as I like to find for a quote:
  • An OFFICER stands up on a barrel to address his unruly and deserting soldiers:

    Listen, lads -- ten miles up that road are the Germans! (Jeering. A soldier shouts "Rubbish!") Not rubbish! They're coming! And they're coming fast. You've let them in! (More and louder jeering) They're coming for your wives, your houses -- your country!"

    SOLDIER: Your country -- Officer!

Continuing scene:
  • OFFICER: Yes! My country, and --

    He never finishes, for the barrel lid collapses and he falls inside. The SOLDIERS laugh and jeer, but one of them fires a single round and the OFFICER sinks dead into the water.

    Angry pandemonium runs through the ranks and they turn on the other mounted
    OFFICERS, unhorsing and clubbing them down with their rifle butts.
=============================

The soldiers in this scene-quote are Russians.

Well hello there fellow Dane and fellow Graphic Designer.
Are you still a trainee or did you pass the exam and War Tourism project...? Hope you did!
If you need some WWII history from Århus or a tour of the few sites let me know.

Back to the answer. Yes, from A Bridge Too Far.
Shortly before Major Carlyle dies and Lt. Col. Frost surrenders!
Lt. Col. John Frost: You know, Harry; I always wanted to ask you but didn't because I knew you so very much wanted me to; but why do you always carry that umbrella?
Major Harry Carlyle: Bad memory. Never could remember the password. Knew no Jerry would carry one. Had to prove I was an Englishman, you see.
