Beppo Schmidt, do you think Tony Shalhoub would be a good choice in playing Adolf Eichmann? He's that quirky police detective from Monk and looks much more like Eichmann, than Colley does (in my book) even though Colley is great.

If Tony Shalhoub would play a WWII bad guy, Eichmann would be it. He would be just as good as Stanley Tucci.
Also, Beppo Schmidt, who else would play Paul Blobel? I think off the top of my head the best choices would be either David Lloyd (Back to the Future) or Rade Serbedzija (Snatch) as both men are a similar age to real Blobel and look roughly similar; more so than the ever reliable Colley.

Tony Shalhoub could maybe play Eichmann. I don't know who would play Blobel though. Neither Lloyd nor Serbedzija look like him to me.
I think Anthony Hopkins is too old to play Sepp Dietrich. Ed Harris as Rommel is an obvious choice, although the thread is about SS officers, Rommel wasn't an SS officer.
Anthony Hopkins and Ian McKellen are two of the best actors alive though, they could probably pull off a wide range of roles.

Are you sure? I think Davod Lloyd looks especially like Blobel; they both share similar facial features and their eyes match up well. Lloyd certainly resembles Blobal much more than any other actor I can think of.Posted by Beppo Schmidt:

And though you'd think I'm strange, but would Kevin Spacey be great choice for playing Heinrich Himmler? Give Spacey blue contact lenses, pebble glasses and the Reichsfuhrer-SS uniform and it could work.
And did Anthony Hopkins and McKellan play Nazis? I've heard that Hopkins played Adolf Hitler, while Ian McKellen played a ex-SS camp guard in Apt Pupil and pseudo-Nazi in Richard III.

Here is a photo of Kevin Spacey: http://www.makeup-artist.com/images/por ... spacey.jpg
What do you think Beppo Schmidt?
And he played modest, fairly bright, unassuming, but really vicious vilains in The Usual Suspects and Se7en.

In the next few years I can see PAUL BETTANY and CILLIAN MURPHY playing SS officers in movies as both men have the "evil" look and have experience of playing villains.
PAUL BETTANY

CILLIAN MURPHY

Perhaps in a few years time when they are both older Paul Bettany could play Reinhard Heydrich and Cillian Murphy could play Walter Schellenberg in movies.
Best regards,
David

Paul Bettany and Cillian Murphy are both interesting and fairly fresh faces. I've only seen Bettany in Master and Commander (though I hear he makes a good villain), but so far I've seen Murphy in 28 Days Later, Red Eye, and Batman Begins...he's one of those actors who just seems creepy.
Bettany kind of has that Aryan look.
