The town is famous as the starting point for the 1916 Brusilov offensive, but I am having trouble determining the strategical importance of Lutsk. Osprey publishing's "The Russian Army 1914-1915" states, when describing the Austro-Hungarian's capture of the town, that it was a vital railroad junction, but "World War I" by H.P. Willmott includes a map that shows no railways passing through Lutsk. I certainly take the word of Osprey over Mr. Willmott, whose book claims the SMS Emden was sunk at Jutland, but was wondering if anyone could clarify.

If anyone has detailed maps that include railways I would be much eternally thankful.
