Hello,
I hope I’m placing this image in the right place. I just purchased this postcard that was advertised as a “WWI Austrian Postcard depicting an Austrian Soldier returning home to his Family” with the caption across the bottom, “Help Ease the Homecoming!” The PC measures approx. 6" x 4 1/8", is printed on paper with a divided back was never written on or posted. The card has a Green 1s "Heimkehrer NOTOPFER" stamp on the back that has a Tirol cancellation on the bottom right corner. The publisher is indicated as the Homecoming Help Bureau in Tirol. But, although difficult to see, the soldiers looks like he’s wearing a WWII style uniform and the woman, looks like she’s dressed in the 1930s, or post WWII dress. The Green 1s "Heimkehrer NOTOPFER" stamp also looks post WWII in style, but the red cancellation looks very Austrian-Hungarian. Does anyone have some knowledge about this time period that can estimate whether this is a post WWI, or post WWII postcard/stamp?
James
